My full name is Luke Sebastian Medler and I was born in Guilford on the 18th of May, 1999. I currently study at UCA in Farnham after previously studying at Farnborough 6th Form. I’m taking the foundation course and I hope to progress onto studying Graphic Design and Illustration. I work mostly with pen, ink, pencil, Photoshop and Illustrator and My favourite mediums are collage, black and white drawings and comics.
I have a range of influences that help to fuel my work. My main hobby in life other than art is music, and of course I can’t help but create art relating to music. My main musical influences have been Motörhead, Pantera, Black Flag, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Metallica and The Misfits. Artistically, I am very influenced by artist Raymond Pettibon, who began by making artwork for Black Flag, is known for making pen and ink, black and white images with intersecting text giving a context and story. I also like the work of artists such as Jamie Reid, Saul Bass, Gary Panter, Gee Vaucher, Charles Burns and Winston Smith. Otherwise, my work is influenced by themes of identity, free speech, patriotism, political incorrectness, cinema, history and wildlife.
